1. Data Retention Policy (Mandatory Schedule)

We operate under strict data minimization rules to protect patient privacy:

Original Medical Bills & EOB Images: Automatically and permanently deleted after 48 hours.
Raw Extracted JSON Data: Automatically and permanently deleted after 48 hours.
Audit Reports & Dispute Letters: Retained for 30 days, then deleted automatically.
Real Patient Names: NEVER stored in our database.
Account Email & Credit Balance: Retained permanently unless you request account deletion.

2. Document Processing & AI

Your uploaded medical bill or Explanation of Benefits is processed using Claude AI Vision for the sole purpose of extracting line items (descriptions, codes, quantities, and amounts). Your documents are never used to train artificial intelligence models or sold to third parties.

3. Hedged Legal Disclaimer

VerifyMedBill is a document analysis software tool. We are not a law firm, debt negotiator, or licensed medical billing entity. We do not contact hospitals, debt collectors, or insurance companies on your behalf.

4. User Control & Deletion

You maintain full control over your data. You may delete all your stored reports, upload history, and profile data at any time from your Account settings.
